I ordered my Airband scanner from Radios_uk through Amazon for £122.50 on the sunday evening and was very pleased to receive it on tuesday morning by Royal Mail Special Delivery. For a scanner at this price it has a very good specification level, you get the military frequencies and it has a high speed scan and high speed search [ up to 60 channels per second and up to 70 frequencies per second ], you can even insert text for the frequency you have stored, for a scanner at this price it is a good addition. The reception and clarity are very good and there is also memory for 1000 channels, more than most people will ever need. I can recommend this scanner highly. The GRE doesn't, you need to buy these separately, so the lower price is deceptive. 5) The Uniden has ten (10) Priority Channels, the GRE has one (1) 6) On the flip side, the only feature I can see in favor of the GRE, is that it has twice as many memories, 200 vs 100 of the Uniden. You really don't need to spend any more than this for great results. I purchased mine, as i like to photograph low level military jets. If you go on the aviation forums, and sites, you can get bundles of frequencies. When up in the valleys, this scanner can be as clear as listening to a mobile phone. I've been quite impressed by it to be honest.

It's very easy to use and learn, and the scanning rate is very fast aswell. Before purchase, i read numerous reviews, before obviously making a decision. A scanner is perfectly legal, as long as it's just navigational frequencies being used!
